WHAT IS IBS?

Manage and Improve Your Symptoms

Understanding your symptoms and their relationship to your gut health is paramount in finding a way to improve the condition for life.

You are not alone — and it is treatable

IBS is one of the most common gut disorders in the UK. Despite how debilitating it can feel, the right nutritional and lifestyle approach can lead to dramatic, lasting improvement.

Your Gut Symptoms

IBS presents differently in everyone. Here are the most common ways it might be affecting your daily life.

Constipation or diarrhoea?

You might have been diagnosed with IBS-C, IBS-D, IBS-mixed or IBS-U. Don’t worry, I’ve worked with clients with all types of IBS symptoms and diagnoses. Do you have urgency immediately after eating?

Pain and cramps?

IBS sufferers have heightened pain sensors. It’s not your imagination, you do feel more pain. But I promise that a personalised diet and lifestyle changes can help.

Indigestion and acid reflux?

This is a complicated subject, caused mainly by too little stomach acid. I’ve written a blog about this subject and you can read it here.

Bloating and wind?

Your gut bugs produce gasses, so you need more good bacteria in there to help balance the gut and reduce the bloating.

"When I signed up with The Food For Healthy Guts, they looked at my diet, sleep, general health and weight loss. Their was very approachable and great support. Their knowledge of nutrition is fascinating and really inspires you to re affirm you are what you eat and you can change your habits. I wasn't sure what to expect and entered this a little apprehensive but they were so understanding and relaxed in their approach. I feel much better and have also lost weight. I did think I was quite a healthy eater but I've learnt so much more!"

Caroline

"The Food For Healthy Guts programme came at a time where I was struggling with juggling running a business while staying on top of health and nutrition. The planning has been easy to follow, food & nutrition guidance excellent and the weekly live Q&As crucial for accountability and staying on track. It's one step at a time but I feel so much better as a result and Jackie has made the whole experience easy - and she knows exactly what you're going through."

Sam

"I wanted to come back to you with a massive massive thank you. Because of the advice you gave in one of your Facebook Live vids on tummy acid and reflux, along with your recommendation on supplements, I've managed to come off omeprazole after a year of needing it for gastritis. I'm feeling so much better for having a normal amount of tummy acid, what I can eat has suddenly expanded, and I've not had any sick bugs for a couple of months now. I feel like I'm finally heading back to normality, albeit carefully and slowly. Thank you so much for all your wisdom."

My job is to find out what your root causes are

Not only are everyone’s symptoms different, but the root cause of their problems will be very different too.

We will work together to root out your causes and find the best solutions to improve your life.

Hormonal imbalance

When our hormones go haywire, they can affect our sleep, our mood and sadly our guts.

Stress and anxiety

Stress can cause our gut and immune system to be dramatically out of balance, so that we are in ‘fight or flight’ mode too often, slowing down digestion.

Hormonal imbalance

Sugar and fat: Too much sugar and inflammatory unhealthy fats can disrupt our gut bugs.

Food sensitivity

Sensitivities can start at any time. You could be eating too many histamine-producing foods, too many nightshade vegetables or maybe you’re reacting to one of the top 14 allergens.

Dysbiosis

Your gut microbiome has more non-beneficial bacteria then beneficial.
