Lose a pound a week

This week I’m talking about sleep. When you don’t sleep enough it is a stress on your body and as we know stress slows down digestion.

Stress triggers the release of cortisol which triggers the liver to produce glucose and if that glucose isn’t used it is stored in your fat cells. Normally stored around the middle.

Finally because there is a fluctuation in your blood sugar your brain sends signals that encourage you to eat carbs and sugar.

So a double whammy of sugar in your blood stream being stored as fat.

Try to get into a good routine of going to bed at the same time each night and importantly getting up at the same time.

If you can get outside even if it is cloudy, for 10mins, no sunglasses please if the sun is out. This helps to keep your circadian rhythms in a good routine. Helping you to fall asleep when you go to bed.

If you want help with sleep then please DM me and go onto my website and book a free 30 minute conversation
