Baked Sea Bream, How do you know when fish is cooked ?
How do you know when a baked fish is cooked? So baked fish is definitely one of my favorite meals to cook because it is so simple and I have it with garlic greens, which also are really simple to cook. So this is a quick, nutritious meal. Obviously the fish has very high in a omega 3 and protein, so it's extremely healthy for you.
So this is how I check to see if my fish is cooked. So first of all, I want the head off, so the head comes off. And I can already see the fish is perfectly cooked. It is falling apart. Really. If I gently push it, it's falling apart. It's moist, so it's not been dried out and tastes wonderful. Okay, so I know the fish is cooked.
Another way of testing is I draw a knife through the middle. Of the fish and then I start to peel the skin off, and the skin should come off really easily. Shouldn't be stuck anywhere. It shouldn't be stuck. You should be able to just push it aside with your knife. Another good indication that this fish is cooked perfectly.
You can see that these bones are coming away easily from the top of the fish. Okay? I don't want this bit because that's got lots of bones in it. So I'm gonna push my knife in a bit further now that fillet hopefully will come off in one piece. Like that. That is a perfectly cooked piece of fish. There you go.
One piece of fish perfectly cooked. Let me take off. The greens from the cabbage. I have got cooking, so let me take off the skin from the second fillet that comes off just as easily. Push it off with your knife and then this fillet, should come off again in one piece, and that means that there is gonna be minimum bones.
Finally, the easiest bit of all is to take the tail off and pick the main bone up with your fingers and pull. That is all of the fish bones coming out. I don't want this piece of the fish here because this has got lots and lots of bones in it. And I'm not very good at getting all of the bones out. I should be able to flick out the ones I can see.
So these are the ones I can see just coming out now, this whole double fillet should come out in one go like this, double fillet out in one go. How professional does that look? Beautiful. So that goes onto my plate. So that is sea bream on the bone cooked in the oven. I cooked it for. 25 minutes. It's perfectly cooked, and all I'm waiting for now is my greens, which are cooking with butter, olive oil, and garlic on the side.
You don't need anything else simple. Maybe a squeeze of lemon.
